Soaring Crane Summer Camp
The Soaring Crane summer camp for children from the garbage dump, "ninja miners" - children who burrow into the ground in search of coal to sell - and other impoverished countryside youth aged 8 -16 years is close to Khot Ail. It is an experiential learning camp designed to give children an opportunity to learn about their history and culture and prepare them with positive life choices and opportunities that include human rights education and ways to move forward with a life that does not include scavenging in the garbage. All riders are welcome to pop by for a visit and meet some of the children they are helping by trekking with Horse Trek Mongolia.
Volunteer opportunities at the Soaring Crane Summer Camp are available independently AND as add-ons to all the treks.
Staying and volunteering at the Soaring Crane Summer Camp is $50.00 USD /day and includes room and board. All
proceeds go to fund the Children of the Peak Sancutary Project programmes, including the Soaring Crane Summer Camp.
