Lake Khovsgul Ice Festival Sleigh Trek & Ice Festival Experience
Early March 2023 (Dates to be confirmed) 8 days / 7 nights. – Ger stays Pack Horse Support Riding Level: All Levels Now for something completely different! We have a brand new adventure experience now in development! Leaving from UB we will drive to Hatgal stopping overnight along the way at the local hotel. Once up at Hatgal, situated on the shore of the famed Blue Pearl of Mongolia - Lake Khovsgul we will proceed for 3 day and 2 night excursion across the vast expanse of frozen ice that is Lake Khovsgul in the winter. We will bring a ger along with us to set up and take down each day on the ice...and lots and lots of wood to keep warm. Following that we will have 2 days in Hatgal to experience the amazing event that is the Lake Khovsgus Ice Festival, a celebration of the history and culture of the local Tsaatan people ( Reindeer riders) and their long and storied Shamanistic tradition. FULL ROUTE & TARRIFF BEING FINALIZED - PLEASE STAY TUNED! This includes horse, chariot, guide, translator, tack, safety equipment, 3 meals and 2 snacks /day, coffee, tea & water, (alcohol extra) accommodation based on shared occupancy (ger), and return airport transfer. |

Mongolian horses are very forward moving and responsive and if your experience or ability is not up to managing them, for your own safety you will be put on a lead for some or all of the trek. Please note that, as with all our treks, we will be proceeding into areas where medical coverage is sparse or non-existent and, in the event of an emergency your treatment may be delayed as a result.
